Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 DASH Plug-in

The Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 (SCCM 2007) plug-in allows. IT professionals to take full advantage of Microsoft SCCM for out-of-band management of systems that conform to the DASH specification, developed by the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF). Using the plug-in, you can remotely manage and support commercial desktop and notebook PCs, even when powered off (out-of-band) or out-of-service. The Wake on LAN capability powers on systems to ensure software deployments, particularly urgent critical and security patches.

Capabilities of the plug in includes:

Auto Discovery:

Discover DASH capable systems individually or within a collection

Remote Power Control:

Power Off, Power On, Power Reset and Power Cycle a DASH collection or an individual system

Wake-on-DASH and Boot Device Control

Provisioning: Setting security credentials in the DASH MC (for a client or collection)

Create new user and Password

Modify existing user and assign a user to a capability role

Alerting Capabilities:

Subscribe to events, such as CPU temperature, Boot failure, etc.

DASH Software Development SDK

The DASH SDK provides software in source and binary form to allow management consoles and management applications to support the DMTF DASH interface. It consists of libraries, command-line (CLI) utilities, and example code that are used to facilitate DASH integration with industry management consoles. Applications built using the SDK can discover and interact with any DASH-enabled Management Access Points (MAPs) to which they have network access and the required credentials.
